Share your story about why you considered and ultimately had cosmetic surgery.

I had a Breast Reduction, Abdominoplasty and Liposuction performed. The first Doctor that I went to was "Hospital Certified" and they explained to me that this meant that they could perform all of the same procedures and had all of the same equipment that a hospital has. The Doctor was going to perform my surgery in his office and after I recovered I would be released to go home. I then met with Dr. Daiza who explained the difference between a "Board Certified Surgeon" and a "Hospital Certified Surgeon" and to me there was a huge difference. Because I liked the idea that Dr. Daiza was trained in the field of plastic surgery, could operate in a hospital, and that I would spend two days after my surgery in a hospital recovering from the surgery which was over 8 hours. The "Hospital Certified Surgeon" told me that I would go home after the surgery, that he would give me blood thinners for me self inject, and that I would need to walk two hours after surgery. While in my hospital room after surgery I thought there was "no way in hell" that 1) I would remember to self inject myself 2) want to get out of bed 3) my bed would have blood stains from the dressings. I made the best decision by going with not only a "Board Certified Surgeon" but also with Dr. Daiza who I feel is not only a compassionate and caring Doctor, but a person. There are so many things that can go wrong during surgery but also after surgery and having the time to spend in the hospital recovering with trained nurses, nutritionists, and others was the right decision even though I hate hospitals. The care I received was outstanding and I know that if I had gone home after recovering from surgery it probably would of ended up being a medical disaster.

How did your friends and family feel about your decision to have a procedure?

Everyone is impressed on how well I have recovered and how I am looking. I have had friends come by and offer advice such as not to do much work, take a easy, and to follow the advice of my Doctor which I will do.

How did 1800MySurgeon help you through the process of finding a qualified plastic surgeon?

1800mySurgeon helped me find Dr. Daiza. I am glad that I found her and that I did take the time to visit with her.

Can you describe your surgery and recovery?

As far as I know, the surgery went well. I did not have any nausea or problems waking up. The recovery is going as smoothly as possible. The drains have been removed and I am starting to feel like my old self even though I still get tired.

What advice would you give to another person considering your same procedure?

I would not even consider using a "Hospital Certified Doctor" because they are not trained in this field and can't work or perform surgeries in a hospital.

How do you feel about your result?

I think for the time being I am more than satisfied with the progress and I know that within two months I will be even happier. The first 24 hours I was asking myself "what the hell did I do to myself"? But a couple of days I know it was worth it. The pain is minor and mostly just discomfort.
