Share your story about why you considered and ultimately had cosmetic surgery.

I have always had full, heavy breasts since my teen years. I spent seven years dancing in two small companies and had multiple child births over time. So my breasts went from a size B to a D cup and finally settled in the C/D range. I found myself uncomfortable as I entered maturity. I was embarrassed to wear certain clothes and found myself hiding behind XXL men's T-shirts. People didn't know if I had a figure. I knew I had to take a positive step to help myself.

How did your friends and family feel about your decision to have a procedure?

My family is excited for me with the end results. My daughter who is about to turn twenty excitedly says we are busty twins now. Friends are contemplating having the procedure done as well. They have similar fears regarding implants and/or surgery for cosmetic purposes.

How did 1800MySurgeon help you through the process of finding a qualified plastic surgeon?

1800mySurgeon was efficient, kind and professional with providing information that helped me connect with a wonderfully skilled surgeon. Finding the right surgeon whom I could trust was the greatest fear I held. Dr. Tattelbaum is awesome. He proves to be a blessing for me.

Can you describe your surgery and recovery?

Surgery was amazingly low key for me. The medical staff from the very beginning of the process was phenomenal. Their skills and professionalism remain commendable. I checked into the Rockville office early morning hour and was done by early afternoon. Dr. Tattelbaum continues to be thorough and does not powder coat the procedure. He gives the good with the bad so that the patient can make an informed decision regarding the elected surgery. I appreciate this, being the patient. Recovery is going as he described. I choose not to take the pain medications because of the work I do and having a history of Chemical Sensitivity Syndrome. The first 24 hours were bumpy - I did take 1/4 dose of the prescribed pain medication at that time. I continue to take nothing. I like sensing my body as it enters various phases of healing. The pain levels vary from day to day, week to week. I use Young Living LavaDerm spray and therapeutic Lavender oil blended with Maderma ointment to the suture sites. The T-cut incisions are healing just lovely. My breasts are 'lovely'. The first appearance was frightening. I allowed myself time to heal for the first two weeks before taking a 'real' look at the results. When Dr. Tattlebaum did his follow up 2 week exam, I was able to look in the mirror and 'wow' I was pleased. I've been looking round the clock ever since. The girls are coming along just fine. I'm anxious to take them swimming and to wear a dress for the first time in years.

What advice would you give to another person considering your same procedure?

I researched for years and spoke to women who have had implants. I watched documentaries of before and after breast surgeries before taking the ultimate step in making a sound decision that I can live with. This is the best thing I have ever done for my self-esteem and personal healing since my five children. The small indentations from bra straps are gone, and my back feels wonderful. I wasn't that large, but my breasts felt full and heavy. Dr. Tattelbaum played an important role at this time in my life. I can't thank him and his staff enough.

How do you feel about your result?

I always wanted breasts that naturally salute the sun. No more crayons or pencils under the breasts for me! I could hold six at most. That's six jumbo pencils too many for me. I stand proud and happy to show them off, if asked. Dr. Tattelbaum is a God send. His staff is awesome. I will miss his professionalism and ability to accomplish all I wanted and then some. Having elected to go with the breast lift alone was more than satisfying. It is one of the best gifts I could have given to myself. I am grateful. Thank you Dr. Tattelbaum and staff!
