Share your story about why you considered and ultimately had cosmetic surgery.

I had the breast implants done eight years ago. I am happy with my implants but I hated how the areola looked afterwards. They looked very large and I thought they would have been much smaller. I have to say I hated them and for me it was a big turn off. I can't recall how long I wanted the tummy tuck. I have talked about it for years but thought I could do it on my own by working out. Just couldn't get to where I wanted to be after having two kids.

How did your friends and family feel about your decision to have a procedure?

They all said I didn't need the tummy tuck. I told them I was doing it for me. They said they worried about any danger that could be involved, but they also respected my wishes. The only person that I really talked to about my areolas was my daughter. I know she would be truthful with me. Not like when you ask your husband and they tell you that you are fine just the way you are. My daughter didn't think that I really needed the tummy tuck but did feel I needed the areolas repaired.

How did 1800MySurgeon help you through the process of finding a qualified plastic surgeon?

1800mySurgeon gave me the name of the plastic surgeon and I looked up the surgeon on the web and read as much as I could about her. 1800mySurgeon called back and asked if I had gone to see the doctor yet and I told them I had and that I just loved her and made my appointment for my surgery for the 17th of September.

Can you describe your surgery and recovery?

The surgery went well and everyone was wonderful. I did get a little sick and spent sometime sick to my stomach. I hated getting up to walk later that night. My mid back hurts from not being about to stand up straight and my neck is sore. I haven't had any problems with my breast or my tummy tuck.

What advice would you give to another person considering your same procedure?

I would take the time to make sure this is what is right for you and only you. Also, keep in mind how long you can take off work. To me, that was the hardest part of all. I didn't tell anyone and just told them I hurt my back. If it was up to me I would take a month off, but everyone is different and works different kinds of jobs.

How do you feel about your result?

It's been a little over three weeks now and I love the way my breast look. My tummy doesn't have all the feeling back and that could take 6 months to a year. To me that's OK. So far I love the outcome.
