Share your story about why you considered and ultimately had cosmetic surgery.

For as long as I could remember, I always had problem thighs, no matter how much I exercised. It always made shopping for clothes a horrible experience. I also had one eyebrow lower than the other, which made me look tired. I had been considering cosmetic surgery for a long time but was always scared to take the leap. After months of discussing it with my family and lots of research, I finally decided I was ready to do something about the issues that bothered me. I met with Dr. Scott Miller who was extremely helpful and honest and really made me feel comfortable with my decision.

How did your friends and family feel about your decision to have a procedure?

My husband was very supportive of my decision. He was aware that I had very low self-esteem with regards to my body image and the issues that I couldn't change. He said that if that was what I really wanted to do that he would support me 100%. It made me feel a lot better knowing that I wasn't being judged for what I wanted to do.

How did 1800MySurgeon help you through the process of finding a qualified plastic surgeon?

I first discovered 1800MySurgeon on the internet when I was considering another surgeon. I was so grateful that I found them because the surgeon I was originally considering was not registered with the ASPS. 1800mySurgeon recommeded Dr. Miller and I am so pleased that they did. If I hadn't checked with this service and just gone with the original surgeon, who knows what would have happened! Thank you.

Can you describe your surgery and recovery?

I was very anxious on the day of my surgery but was very quickly put at ease. The surgery was only few hours and after that I went to a recovery center. Initially, I was a bit sore and very bruised but I didn't feel a bad as I thought I would. After a few days, I was up and about and feeling quite good. I never really had much pain. It was more discomfort and I only needed to take pain killers twice. The only thing I found difficult was having to sleep on my back. The numbness subsided more each day as the swelling and bruising went down. All I will say is that it was a pretty good experience.

What advice would you give to another person considering your same procedure?

I would definitely recommend that you have your surgeon checked out thoroughly with 1800mySurgeon. Make sure you are comfortable with the surgeon. Don't shop around by price alone. Ask lots of questions. No question is too stupid. Remember that it is your body. Accept that you are going to have some down time and you may feel a little depressed a few days after surgery, but that is normal. The garment that you wear after Liposuction is comfortable and not noticeable under your clothing. Be prepared to wear it for approximately 6 weeks. Finally, make sure that you are having the surgery for the right reason.

How do you feel about your result?

I love my results and I couldn't be happier. I don't know why I waited so long. It is so good to go clothes shopping and buy outfits that I just wasn't able to wear before. I love my eyes now so much. I apply makeup to draw attention to them. I look so much more rested and awake. This is without a doubt one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have no regrets.
