During my initial consultation with Dr. Beck, we decided I didn't need a tummy tuck. Dr. Beck felt that liposuction was sufficient and my husband and I are happy with the results. The extra weight in the midriff is gone and my hips are more sculpted, giving me a better fit in my clothes. I am very pleased and plan to return for facial work.
How did your friends and family feel about your decision to have a procedure?
They were supportive. My husband wanted me to be happy so he said whatever I decided was what we would do. My sister had liposuction last year and she looked wonderful. She had also had a lower face lift, so I plan on doing that next year sometime. I was so amazed with her results that I wanted to look just as good.

Can you describe your surgery and recovery?
The day of surgery my husband drove me and picked me up. The prep nurse coated the area to be operated on, I lied down and was asleep minutes later. There is some discomfort in healing but Motrin takes care of that. The area of liposuction must be massaged for three weeks and the doctor sees you a couple of times to ensure things are alright.
What advice would you give to another person considering your same procedure?
Take your time in deciding and make sure you have a great doctor. You get wonderful references from 1800mySurgeon.
How do you feel about your result?
It has been eight months and I'm very happy with how I look in my clothes. Before the surgery, the weight in my midriff area made it extremely difficult to find a blouse that fit. I felt like an old lady by the way I had to dress. Now I can fit into blouses and tops that show my shape. I now have a waist and look like I really have a shape to my figure instead of a big square. My dresses really flatter me too. My husband likes the way I look in my swim suits and gives me compliments all the time which have really increased my self-confidence.
