Share your story about why you considered and ultimately had cosmetic surgery.

I am the mother of four children. After several years of attempting to get rid of the belly fat and loose skin by enrolling in the gym and exercising at home, nothing would help, not even dieting. There was no change other than more weight loss and more loose skin. After 14 years, I convinced my husband to go with me to a consultation.

How did your friends and family feel about your decision to have a procedure?

My husband is pleased with the results and so am I. My daughters say that as time passes the scars are looking better each day. They all say that they can see the difference because it makes me feel a lot better about myself.

How did 1800MySurgeon help you through the process of finding a qualified plastic surgeon?

1800mySurgeon helped me with the doctors information. When I forgot where my consultation appointment was, 1800mySurgeon gave me all the information I needed.

Can you describe your surgery and recovery?

The surgery was quick and painless. The doctor and his staff were great. The recovery time was longer than I expected. I took two weeks off of work. I had to get used to everything - being sore, I was not able to walk up-right for about 2-3 weeks. Even then, I walked with a slant. Since my stomach was tighter than expected, I felt that if I straightened up, I would re-open the stitches. I unable to wear tight clothes like jeans or dress pants for the whole month. Other than that, it was OK. I would do it again, but I would prefer to have it done without the drains. I wasn't very please with the liposuction done on hip area. It now looks like bulky loose skin on both sides and I'm not sure if it's been tightened enough. I experienced very little pain with the liposuction.

What advice would you give to another person considering your same procedure?

Take more time off from work - 3-4 weeks if possible. Be prepared because the scar looks scary when first done. All you see is a dark big line, although it clears with time. Now the incision is very light and still clearing. I can honestly say that the worst part of the whole surgery were the drains (ouch). I'm not too sure if I would do liposuction again or I would do more research on the doctor performing the procedure.

How do you feel about your result?

I am very happy about the tummy tuck scar. It is still clearing up. I was informed I should give it time to clear. I am still indecisive about the liposuction done on my hips because some of the skin is left semi-loose and bulky, which was not like that before the procedure was done.
