Share your story about why you considered and ultimately had cosmetic surgery.

I had always been uncomfortable about my thighs. I hated the feeling of them rubbing together and envied any girl with a thin pair of legs. I was an athletic person - I went to the gym and played sports at my high school, but despite my vigorous workout routines, my thighs were unresponsive. After wearing pants for a few months, I decided I needed to do something to make me feel better about my legs.

How did your friends and family feel about your decision to have a procedure?

I didn't tell many people about my surgery, not even my family. I was hesitant about telling my boyfriend, but I knew he would catch on eventually when he saw the bruising and girtle. He didn't try to talk me out of the surgery, but supported me instead. He told me that if it makes me happy then I should do it. My mother found out when she saw the payment on my online checking statement. I thought she would be livid at me, but surprisingly she was understanding. "I know how it feels to have your thighs rub together, and I know how frustrating it can be," she said. So in the end, when I was afraid to tell everyone, it turns out that they were more supportive of my decisions than I thought they would be.

How did 1800MySurgeon help you through the process of finding a qualified plastic surgeon?

1800mySurgeon looked at the type of surgery I was considering and where I was located, and gave me a few choices of Board Ceritified surgeons in my area. The 1800mySurgeon staff suggested Dr. Daiza to me. As expected, I asked about her experience, years in the business, etc. I received nothing but good words about Dr. Daiza, which convinced me that she might be the surgeon I was looking for.

Can you describe your surgery and recovery?

I went into the surgery waiting room, and was greeted by a few friendly assistants. They took my blood pressure, put an IV in my arm to administer water and medications to put me to sleep, had me do a urine test to assure I wasn't pregnant, and before I knew it I was being rolled into the operating room on a hospital bed. Before I made it in the room I was fast asleep. When I woke up my boyfriend was waiting for me, and a nurse was ready with a wheelchair to wheel me out to the car. My mother helped me around the house for the next few days as I limped around with sore thighs. The soreness quickly went away, so I only needed to take one of the prescribed Vicadin pills I had. I wore a girtle for about a month to keep the swelling down. There was a lot of bruising on my thighs, but it didn't hurt, and went away within weeks.

What advice would you give to another person considering your same procedure?

Go to Dr. Daiza. She is experienced, knowledgable, and works with you to find the procedure that is best for you. Once you decide on the procedure, she tells you step by step how it will go, from the surgery itself to post-op medications to instructions for preventing excess swelling and bruising. She is a relatively young surgeon so it was easy for me to open up to her about everything. I thought about liposuction and my thighs. She was very understanding. I completely trusted her and I quickly realized that she was the person I wanted for my surgery.

How do you feel about your result?

I noticed that my inner thighs were smaller. They didn't rub together nearly as much as they used to, if at all. I realized that when I was walking around that my shorts didn't bunch up anymore, and I could strut my stuff without worrying about my legs jiggling below me. The incision that Dr. Daiza made on each leg was about half an inch long, and was placed on the creace of my thigh so that it wasn't noticable. She did an amazing job and I would go back to her if I ever considered another surgery.
