Share your story about why you considered and ultimately had cosmetic surgery.

I am currently 38 years old and as long as I can remember, I have always desired to have larger breasts. For a long time, I was not sure about the consequences of breast augmentation. I have friends and family members that already had the surgery - some with saline implants and some with silicone implants. I thought I wanted silicone, but years back they were taken off the market due to leakage problems. Now silicone is as widely used as saline, but after my research and in-office consultation I decided to have saline implants. The main reason I chose saline over silicone was because in the case of rupture/leakage the problem is known right-away. Silicion ruptures are more difficult to detect and MRI's are necessary every 2-3 years. At this time in my life, it was the right thing to do so I decided to go for it.

How did your friends and family feel about your decision to have a procedure?

My husband was the only one that had reservations about my procedure, but he is pleased with the final results.

How did 1800MySurgeon help you through the process of finding a qualified plastic surgeon?

1800mySurgeon responsed via phone and then e-mail within 24-hours. After the patient coordinator at 1800mySurgeon gathered my information and what procedure I was seeking, she sent me Dr. Connall's information and background. After that, I chose him to be my surgeon.

Can you describe your surgery and recovery?

Dr. Connall's surgery center was excellent. Every staff member provided awesome bed-side care for the post-operation. The surgery center contacted me two-weeks before surgery, the day of surgery and the day after surgery. Recovery has been incredibly easy. The first few days after surgery are somewhat uncomfortable, but I was off pain medications and muscle relaxers within one week. I had surgery on Thursday and returned to work the following Tuesday.

What advice would you give to another person considering your same procedure?

Go to different consultations, write down and ask all the questions you may have. Also, choose a physician that you are comfortable with.

How do you feel about your result?

I am very pleased with the results. It has only been 17 days since my surgery and the majority of my swelling is gone. I have not had any bruising. I have experienced some hypersensitivity with my nipples and have found that wearing a tank-top with a built in bralette is most comfortable. Overall, I feel awesome and my surgery provided me the bigger and fuller breasts I have always wanted.
