Share your story about why you considered and ultimately had cosmetic surgery.

I decided to have surgery because I have had multiple surgeries on my stomach and then gained about 100 pounds! I have also had two children and breast fed one of them. I have since lost the weight and now I either run 4 miles or ride a bike a 8 miles a day. I do this 6 days a week. So my tummy area gotten pretty ugly. The breasts were not looking so good either. So over the last 4 years I have been wanting to do this and I finally got tired of no longer seeing results with working out. I had lost all the weight I was going to lose. I got down to 130 pounds and figured the rest had to be done through surgery. I'm 2 weeks out and I'm so glad that I did it!!

How did your friends and family feel about your decision to have a procedure?

I knew that my husband would be totally supportive about my tummy tuck. He was not too sure about the breast enlargement. He kind of is a believer that you should be happy with what was given to you. As time went on he came around about the breasts. As for the kids and the rest of the family they have all been totally supportive. Even my dad and brother which I cannot believe!!

How did 1800MySurgeon help you through the process of finding a qualified plastic surgeon?

I filled in the imformation on the 1800mySurgeon site while I was talking on the phone with my mother and while I was on the phone with her, Kristen from 1800mySurgeon called. I could not believe it! She made me feel totally safe and reassured me with the the fact that Dr. Davis had been pre-screened by 1800mySurgeon and is a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon.

Can you describe your surgery and recovery?

Dr. Davis was not sure at first if he could do perform a full tummy tuck due to the loss of circulation I would have had from prior surgeries. It turns out that he was able to do a full tummy tuck!!! He did enter through the old scares but has made them much prettier then they were before. He also performed lipopusuction on my hips and back. All of the extra skin is gone!! I wanted my breasts to be fuller like they used to be before I had childeren. As far as recovery goes, I'm only 2 weeks out. I took the pain medication prescribed by the doctor for 3 days and on the 4th day I took Tylenol. The areas that I had liposuction on for about the first 2 days felt like someone was holding a lit cigarette to my skin. My breasts felt like there was a baby elephant on my chest for about 3 days. I walked bent over for about 5 days. I had my surgery 2 weeks ago and I feel great. I'm not ready to start working out again but I feel really good.

What advice would you give to another person considering your same procedure?

I believe that part of the reason that things have gone so well for me is because I was in fairly good shape before I did this. I have been working out for about 3 years now. And I have a wonderful husband who was very supportive. He took the first week off from work and still will not let me do a whole lot of stuff. He has been very understanding and helpful. Be sure that you have someone who will be understanding and supportive. I'm also a very busy person. I don't sit around much and my house is very clean. Well this has been a wake up call for me. In the sense that I cannot do any of that stuff yet. I feel great but I have been told that if I do any of that stuff I it will set my recovery back. So if you are like me, be prepared to sit on your butt!! That has been the hardest part for me.

How do you feel about your result?

My stomach and hips are wonderful!! As far as my breasts go, they are still going through so many changes.  I don't really know what they will look like yet. It is my understanding that it will take anywhere from 1 to 4 months for them to fall into place and be where they are supposed to be. I do believe that the end result will be as good as my tummy.
