Share your story about why you considered and ultimately had cosmetic surgery.

Turning 50 years old, starting my own massage therapy business, a birthday present was necessary. I felt so uncomfortable when I sat down that I hated the way I was physically. I knew there was only one answer, because I would not make my self work out to do any good. I looked for a doctor to cut it off! I found Dr. David Kaufman, had my consultation and said "let's do it". He's a very soothing man. He has a gentle approach and a consoling aura about him. He made me feel like it was the right choice for my body as he went over the procedure. The office assistants were a great group of people. I would tell everyone I know or don't know to go to them. They can do it all and are very serious to help you be at ease with what you want to do. Any concerns, call them and they'll handle it. My recovery time was longer than expected, but that's me. Don't get me wrong- it hurt like mad for months because of reconnecting tissues, muscles pulled down tight and nerve endings healing. But I would do it again. He is the one I will return to for further work. Having this done makes me want to work out and eat better to stay on the right track.

How did your friends and family feel about your decision to have a procedure?

Even at almost 50 I had to hide it from my mother until the day before, which was hard to do. My sister was the best! After I got back to work I told a few of my clients and they thought it was great! When they came in for their massages they said "Well, let me see the new skinny you". And I gave them Dr. Kaufman's card. My daughter is very happy to my new body and I am too! In the end, all is great and doing wonderful.

How did 1800MySurgeon help you through the process of finding a qualified plastic surgeon?

The phone calls I recieved and conversations with the staff of 1800mySurgeon were very helpful. They asked how close to home I prefered the doctor to be and gave me access to his biography and training information, which was impressive.

Can you describe your surgery and recovery?

Dr. David Kaufman and associates are a class A group. My surgery was 4 hours long and not pretty. My recovery time is still in session but I'm feeling like a spring chick instead of an old wet hen!

What advice would you give to another person considering your same procedure?

Start saving your money and just do it! If you don't need to save, get it done ASAP. It does wonders for your self-esteem. You walk with a better attitude, put some of that swing back into your steps! Say "yeah baby".

How do you feel about your result?

I love my results! Your clothes fit better, you may not lose 20 pounds but you will feel like you did. My pants button up easily and I can eat without my waist going over my pants afterward, and it didn't take much for that to happen. This is why it's so weird to me to be able to feel good about my stomach now.
