Share your story about why you considered and ultimately had cosmetic surgery.

About 9 years ago I had almost 9 lbs of fibroid in my uterus surgically removed. It was a vey life threathening experience I had to go through. I am very fortunately to be alive today to share my tough time of my life. But then I was facing with my terrible scar on my tummy below the belly button about 8 inch long horizontally. I was struggling with it for a long time. I am relatively physically fit but I was constantly hiding my figure because I was very self conscience of revealing my scar and it's close to my belly button. And I couldn't never wear certain tops that are short or wear a bikini. I've been battling with how, when, where, and what dr I should choose to get rid of my difficult scar for quite some. And it was a tough decision to make but I realized I needed to do something about it.

How did your friends and family feel about your decision to have a procedure?

They didn't really notice or think I needed it. But it's my body I'm the one dealing with it. I think that If it happen to them they'd understand it better and that as long as I'm happy with it then that's all that matters they say.

How did 1800MySurgeon help you through the process of finding a qualified plastic surgeon?

Because I was seeking the best board certified plastic surgeon near where I lived was difficult to find on my own. I luckily found 1800mysurgeon online. And they were able to refer me to one of the best renown board certified plastic surgeon in Jacksonville, Florida the nearest where I lived. And contacted me right away and put me in touch with Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery Center with Dr Michael Duffy MD. It was just a week ago I had a consultation. Now in bed recuperating day after surgery. They were flexible, insightfully informative, and quick with the whole process. And tomorrow I'll be visiting the dr for my postoperative office appointment.

Can you describe your surgery and recovery?

I had done the abdaminoplasty recommended by my dr. because my size and not enough access skin to completely remove scar he'll be able to determine what would be the best procedure with what his got to work with when his performing on the operating. Having said not sure exactly what option he took yet. Second day after my surgery of rest and healing in bed and moving around is the hardest which is normal. It's not the first time around and it's not anymore difficult then the one before.

What advice would you give to another person considering your same procedure?

I would say just rest, heal, think positive if you want great results. One thing I like to firmly address is that I would recommend getting help with the in-home care service if you can fit into your budget. Because try to have family memberfor friends to give you care if they have the time is one thing but are they capable of giving you proper proffessional care giving for your safety. Something to think about when you want to make sure the stitches stay in place to get great results for the money you spent. I think that is the only thing lacking in American cosmetic surgery business. You don't receive the full service for the money you spent. Other than that my honest opinion they were great.

How do you feel about your result?

I'll post it later only been 2 days of recovery. 8 more days to go. They say 10 days of recovery. As far as where the exact location of the incision or what options he took not sure yet. I'll find that tomorrow my postoperative office appointment
