Share your story about why you considered and ultimately had cosmetic surgery.

Twelve years ago, I had breast augmentation done when I lived up in the L.A area. I really only wanted a C cup but actually got a D cup. So I wasn't really happy with it. Then after each of my pregnancies and the weight gain that came with it, my skin stretched out and got a little droopy. I was then very unhappy with the way I looked. When I started to research plastic surgeons, I noticed that tummy tucks were very popular in being done at the same time. So I started to seriously consider getting that done also. Then I figured if I was going to do that why not add a little liposuction around my side and back of the waist. I've always hated the way it hung out over my jeans and I needed to make sure my t-shirts were long enough to hide it. So having all three procedures just made sense to me and I knew that I would absolutely love the end results.

How did your friends and family feel about your decision to have a procedure?

My family was very supportive because they knew that I was never really happy with the way I looked. My mom had breast augmentation done after having a double mysectomy and my sister also had breast augmentation done. So they both understood my need of wanting to feel better about the way I looked. And my friends were very excited for me because having kids, they totally understood the effects pregnancy has on the body.

How did 1800MySurgeon help you through the process of finding a qualified plastic surgeon?

When I decided to start looking for a plastic surgeon, I realized I didn't know how to go about finding a good qualified surgeon. I didn't have any referrals to go by so I thought searching for one around my area wouldn't be so bad. Wrong, there are a lot out there and I didn't know who was good and who I should stay away from. When I came across 1800mySurgeon, I thought what a great idea. They'll be able to help me find a good qualified surgeon. And it would also save me a lot of time and effort. After I emailed them, they called me right away and gave me a couple of names. She gave me the full information about each surgeon. She also put me through to their office to set up an appointment. I am so very thankful to 1800mySurgeon for helping me find, in my opinion, the best surgeon around. Not only that, but you know a good Doctor by the people he surrounds himself with. And everyone in his whole office are incredible people. First impressions go a long way with me and when I walked into his office and was greeted by the girls behind the desk, I couldn't have felt more welcomed. They all are very friendly, very helpful with the millions of questions that you have, and truly care about you as a person, not just as a patient. Doctor Smith is an amazing Doctor and person. He's easy going, easy to talk to and loves what he does, helping people.

Can you describe your surgery and recovery?

My surgery went very well. Dr. Smith (a.k.a "Miracle worker") took out my old implants and put in new ones and did a breast lift. Then he did a tummy tuck along with liposuction in my side to back waist. I have to admit, I was very nervous about getting a tummy tuck because when I heard that it would involve having two drainage tubes, one on each side, I was scared. It was a little uncomfortable but it wasn't as bad as I imagined it would be. Luckily my husband helped me a lot with draining the bulbs and keeping record of how much fluid I was draining. I have to say, I was delighted when I got the tubes removed on the 7th day. My breasts healed nicely and the scaring is still fading. They look so natural and also feel very natural. I love that they don't even look like I have implants in.

What advice would you give to another person considering your same procedure?

The best advice I really know how to give is just follow the directions of the Doctor. Don't try to rush your recovery. Give your body the proper amount of time to heal. Get lots of help and don't think your super woman by trying to do too much too soon. Ask lots of questions even if it means calling the office. For me, I always think of more questions after I get home. Talk to people who've had the same procedure. The office can contact people for you to talk to if you don't know anyone personally.

How do you feel about your result?

I am absolutely thrilled with the way I look. I still look in the mirror in disbelief. I always have to look up at my face just to make sure that it's me standing there. Without sounding vane, my figure is outstanding. I love the way my clothes fit and look. I love going shopping and being able to buy more fitted clothes that flatter my new figure. Believe it or not, I'm actually going to wear a two piece swim suit this summer. I haven't done that in years. Not only am I happy with the way I look but I am happy with my new found confidence. I was always very insecure with the way I looked and didn't like the way clothes fit me. But now my confidence has changed. Yay!
