Share your story about why you considered and ultimately had cosmetic surgery.

The area around my eyes, (eyelids as well as area under eyes), was puffy and aging. It was the only thing I saw when I looked at my face in the mirror. Not only was there too much skin, but also fatty deposits. I was going regularly to the doctor's office and having my face treated with microdermabrasion. I wanted it to look better all over though, and my eye area needed specific treatment. I inquired as to the procedure, and especially the down-time associated with it, from an advertisement in the waiting room of the office. I had gone to the office for a regular microdermabrasion appointment. The girl who explained the procedure to me was very helpful, professional, and showed me pictures of other individuals who had the same procedure on their eyes. After meeting with Dr.Cozart, and discussing what his experience was with outcomes, I decided to have the surgery. I had already verified his reputation in the field as well as valued opinions from other doctors in the area. He seemed like the best choice. I am thrilled with the outcome and his treatment .

How did your friends and family feel about your decision to have a procedure?

My husband felt that if I wanted to have it done, and the doctor was reputable, then I should proceed. I did not feel that I wanted to discuss it with friends since I feel that unless someone has gone through it themselves, their 'feelings' can often be opinions from magazine articles and negative jealousy. Both of my grown children feel that my appearance has changed positively.

How did 1800MySurgeon help you through the process of finding a qualified plastic surgeon?

1800mySurgeon was great! I was pleasantly surprised when I heard back on my initial inquiry within minutes! 1800mySurgeon answered all my questions, offered to assist me with any other concerns I may have, and monitored my case with concern, rather than simple compilation of data.

Can you describe your surgery and recovery?

My surgery, right from the facility, all of the nurses, other doctors and attendants, went very smoothly. The doctor met me in the waiting area of the Center, and was also readily available prior to and after the surgery. The Anesthesiologist explained everything as she worked on me and was there as I came back to consciousness. All of the nurses were wonderful. The center called me after 24 hours, and then again in a week to make certain I was doing O.K. While I know that the final result of the surgery will not be complete for several more weeks, I have until now experienced exactly what the doctor told me to expect. I saw him in his office, at his request, within 24 hours for an initial check-up. I applied the ice packs and massaged as he instructed. Tylenol and Advil took care of the minimal discomfort I had. I was on antibiotics and some swelling medication for about a little over a week. Once the swelling dissipated, I could read, watch T.V. and drive a car. My eyes were bruised but I wore sun glasses when out in public and was covering the bruises after 10 days with makeup.

What advice would you give to another person considering your same procedure?

Make certain you check on the doctor's 'track record'. Find out all of the pit falls of the surgery and how long your recovery will be. Remember to give your body time to heal or it may take longer for the results to be realized. Go for it! You're going to love the results.

How do you feel about your result?

My husband and my children noticed the results right away. I have had friends and fellow workers say that there's "...something different about the way I look..." but I have not mentioned anything to them about the type of surgery.
