Share your story about why you considered and ultimately had cosmetic surgery.

I decided to get a breast augmentation because I wasn't comfortable with the way clothes fit throughout my chest area. I would always have to get a bra that was extremely padded so it would look like I was flat chested. I had thought of getting this procedure ever since I realized that my breasts weren't going to grow anymore, which was about two or three years ago. In November of 2009, I decided to finally look for potential local surgeons. I went to the consultation on November 11th and the surgeon was great at explaining the procedure and took his time during the consultation. He didn't make me feel like I was wasting his time or uncomfortable. On April 8, 2010, I called his office and decided to make the appointment for the operation on June 1st.

How did your friends and family feel about your decision to have a procedure?

My friends were very supportive of my decision of having a breast augmentation. My family was also supportive. I didn't really know how to explain to my dad that I was having this procedure done, so my mom had to ultimately help me. It just felt very awkward trying to explain to him why I would want this done. I thought that he was going to ask me many questions or scold me, but it went well. He didn't ask much either. My friends were concerned about when I was going to have my procedure done and by which surgeon.

How did 1800MySurgeon help you through the process of finding a qualified plastic surgeon?

1800mySurgeon helped me look for a surgeon around my hometown. I didn't want to go too far just because of having to go to the post-operative appointments. 1800mySurgeon matched me with Dr. Attaran because he had great reviews and because first time patients qualified for a free consultation. 1800mySurgeon kept calling back to see how the consultation with Dr. Attaran had went and to see when I was going to book an appointment with him.

Can you describe your surgery and recovery?

The morning of my surgery was nerve racking. I made the appointment early because I wouldn't be able to eat or drink anything after 12am the night before. Once I was going to get transferred to the operating room, the anesthesiologist sedated me and all I remember from there is waking up crying and confused. I don't remember even getting to the operating room. I felt nauseated once I woke up. The ride home was painful, every bump or sudden turn would hurt. I was only in pain for about three or four days. It was mostly soreness by my arm area. It has been two weeks since my surgery and they are healing fast.

What advice would you give to another person considering your same procedure?

The advice that I would give to someone considering this procedure is to go with silicone implants not saline. The saline implants are cheaper but it's only an implant filled with salt water. Silicone implants feel more natural, saline ones look like water balloons. Silicone implants are more expensive, but they are worth the money. I am glad I decided to have silicone ones over the saline.

How do you feel about your result?

I am extremely glad with my results. They don't look too big for my body and they are healing fast. Dr. Attaran did a great job at making this procedure a pleasure. I do not regret having the procedure done at all. If I ever decide to have another procedure done, I will definitely consider going to Dr. Attaran again.
