I never in my life thought I would consider plastic surgery - especially on my eyes! Well, as I became older and some of my friends had this procedure done, I became braver and braver. Heavy eyelids run in my family, especially as we get older. I am 62, just retired and thought this would be a good time. I was starting to have problems with my "eye" makeup. No "palet" and I was looking very tired. I had saved $3,000 for this procedure and was going to wait another 6 months. I thought, let's do it NOW. It was a good time, since my fear had subsided and I knew I was ready no matter what outcome. Also, I was just beginning to have some health problems: High cholesterol, irregular heart beat (turned out to be regular for me). So I took my BIG step.

How did your friends and family feel about your decision to have a procedure?

My family were in a panic. My son was supportive surprisingly; but panicked after my operation when he saw my just operated eyes. My husband was upset because he thinks I am beautiful and I spent too much money for nothing. He was very worried. My girlfriends were very supportive and excited for me. Three of my friends who had the same surgery done assured me everything would be just fine. They had their surgery done in their 50's.

How did 1800MySurgeon help you through the process of finding a qualified plastic surgeon?

I wanted someone with great credentials and experience. I looked on the internet and came across 1800mysurgeon. They were efficient and helped me immediately. Great information and was able to get an appointment immediately. I trust that 1800mySurgeon gives their clients nothing but the best referrals.

Can you describe your surgery and recovery?

Dr. Daiza explained every detail to me; I felt comfortable from the get-go. She is a very gentle, kind and professional surgeon. My surgery went well. I was expecting pain and I never never had any - not even when my stitches were removed. It's been a little over 1 month and I am recovering somewhat well. I am having a little trouble with my right eye watering and a little droop; however, everyday it gets better. She said it will take about 3 months for full recovery. I had both my lids and bottom fatty tissue removed from my eyes. All in all I am happy I did this procedure. I highly recommend Dr. Daiza to anyone thinking of having plastic surgery. Thank you.

What advice would you give to another person considering your same procedure?

Don't smoke. Don't wait until you are 62. I'd probably should have done this in my 50's. I think the older you get, there could be possibility of health problems.

How do you feel about your result?

It's too soon at this time. But all in all from 1 to 10, at this time I give it an 8 1/2. I am very pleased with my doctor and her follow-up with me has been encouraging.
